Is This The Start Of A Campaign To Silence Jeromy Farkas By Demonizing Him?
— Diane ColleyUrquhart (@BigRedyyc) April 6, 2018
It was an absolutely brutal week-end across the country that began as word of the tragedy in Saskatchewan began to spread late Friday afternoon. I spent most of the week-end trying to comprehend the events, and shedding a few tears for the lives lost and for the ones left behind.
But for the rest of us, life moves on, and there were some things that happened over the week-end that are worthy of discussion. Equally, a great many MORE things happened that were NOT worthy of discussion at all.
I think the Tweet sent out by Diane Colley-Urquhart (later re-Tweeted by Druh Farrell) just before ten on Friday morning qualifies as being discussion worthy.
I hadn't actually set eyes on it until mid afternoon Friday and I was stunned by what I read when I did see it.
Big Red fears Jeromy Farkas is seething just below the surface??
She agrees that any time he will unleash his fury and what that could mean?
What I want to know is this: What The Hell Do You Mean By this Statement?
Are you saying that you are afraid that the Councillor who sits to your immediate left in the council chamber will attack you physically? Are you perhaps implying that Councillor Farkas is unstable?
My questions go to both Councillor's Colley-Urquhart and Farrell and I would ask them to clarify their statements. (I didn't see very many re-tweets on that one. Could it be that people saw it for what it was, cheap political character assassination. )
They should then issue any apology to Councillor Farkas and the other members of Council for their conduct and face sanctions. This is nothing more than an attempt to silence a voice in opposition to the status quo by either discrediting him or having him permanently removed from City Council.
What kind of reaction would there be if Councillor Farkas had made a similar Tweet about Druh the Shruh or Big Red? The blow-back would come quick and fierce. If you can't handle criticism or being called out on your bullshit, ladies, either do a better job or get out of politics. Don't resort to a smear campaign. It's very unbecoming.
